Occupying approximately one third of Ecuador’s land area, the Amazon basin lies to the east of the Andean Highlands. Commonly referred to as the “Oriente”, this region is exceptionally rich in biodiversity of both flora and fauna. There have been established several parks and reserves, to protect the ecosystem. The three main regions to visit are Tena, Cuyabeno and Coca Region (Yasuni National Park), each offering its own unique experience. Since we are in the equator there are only two seasons: dry and rainy. The dry season runs from December to March and the rainy season from June to November. There isn’t really such thing as a dry season in the Amazon Rainforest, but usually, it tends to rain less frequently, so we like to call them rainy and rainier.
Keep in mind that the overall climate does not vary much during the year. Most days you’ll experience some sun and some rain.
It is best to be prepared for all kinds of weather in any month because sometimes rainstorms appear out of nowhere and at night it can get chilly (especially after it rains).
We love creating tailor-made experiences; choose your destination and let us do the magic. If you have an idea, we can make it!
